STAND 40 Day Prayer Focus

Invitation for Maranatha to Participate in 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting Between Pentecost Sunday (May 23) and Canada Day (July 1) in 2021
Stand in the Unshakeable Kingdom in the Midst of a Shaky World
During the Annual General Meeting of the Fellowship of Christian Assemblies during their recent online National Convention, Greg Fraser, the lead minister of the Father’s House Christian Fellowship in Morinville, Alberta, and a personal friend to Roger, gave the following call to our Canadian FCA churches on May 5.
When Greg looked at his calendar, he noticed that there were exactly 40 days between Pentecost Sunday (May 23) and Canada Day, formerly known as Dominion Day from Psalm 72:8 (July 1). During Maranatha’s online service on Sunday, May 2, some in our leadership (Daniel Williams, Crystal Isaak and Jason Bunn) shared how we expect a new wineskin will be needed as we enter into the summer months of July and August, and on into the Fall season, so it seemed timely that Greg Fraser should issue this call to our FCA churches in the 40 days leading right up to July 1. This is a window of opportunity for us corporately to sensitize our hearts to what the Spirit of God is saying to the churches at this hour, and within our context, to Maranatha specifically.

"My belief is that we are in a time of shaking in the world and in the church that may be unparalleled in history. As we know, Hebrews 12:27-29 tells us about this shaking but reminds us that the Kingdom of God cannot be shaken. We are seeing many and varying responses in the world and even in the church ranging from fear to fury, both of which are not responses of those who live in the unshakable kingdom of God.
"We are calling this prayer initiative, “STAND.” Reflecting the Unshakable Kingdom into a shaky world.
"This is the beginning of this invitation. I am believing God for at least 50 churches to join us in this time. I believe we need a larger strategy of fasting and prayer to move from trying to fight this from the world’s point of view to battling from the unshakable Kingdom’s point of view."
The following is what will be sent to participating churches each week throughout the 40 days:
- A Kingdom reflection
- Scriptures to mediate upon
- Specific prayer points
- An invitation for participants to reflect on what the Holy Spirit is saying to them personally.
They will be sent the completed themes on the Thursday prior to each week, allowing each church time to pass the information to their people prior to their times of fasting and prayer. There are a large variety of ways that can choose to fast as well as to pray.
The themes are:
Stand in Awe and Wonder. Day 1-7 Sunday May 23 to Saturday May 29.
Stand in Humility and Repentance from Dead Works. Day 8-14 Sunday May 30 to Saturday June 5.
Stand in Unity and Faith. Day 15- 21 Sunday June 6 to Saturday June 12.
Stand in Blessing and Intercession. Day 22- 29 Sunday June 13 to Saturday June 19.
Stand in Power and Authority. Day 30- 36 Sunday June 20 to Saturday June 26.
Stand for Canada and the Nations. Day 37- 40 Sunday June 27- Thursday July 1.
This time, between Pentecost Sunday and Canada Day in 2021, is a strategic time to call the church to pray for our families, our church families, our community, our region, our province and our nation.
